Attorney

Jeremy L. Bordelon

Jeremy began working in the disability benefits field as a paralegal for a claimant’s firm in Tennessee in 2004.  He continued working there throughout law school and rejoined the firm as an attorney after graduating in 2009, magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Later, Jeremy moved to Portland, where he founded Evergreen Disability Law to continue his career of helping disabled individuals obtain the benefits they need.

Prior to law school, Jeremy grew up in Acadiana, the Cajun region of south Louisiana.  Later, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served five years on active duty as a Cryptologic Technician (Technical), serving first overseas, and later on fast-attack nuclear submarines. While stationed at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, he met his wife, an Oregon native. Jeremy continues his military service now as an Army Reserve JAG attorney.

Jeremy enjoys sifting through the complex sets of rules that are involved in these practice areas, and is experienced at taking those complex rules and explaining realistic options to his clients.  The unfortunate truth of this field is that sometimes, options are limited, but Jeremy enjoys helping his clients make the best of a bad situation.

Legal AssistantS

Tori Kate pic.jpg

Victoria Bordelon, BSW

Tori grew up in Salem, Oregon, going on to earn her Bachelor's degree in Social Work at Hawaii Pacific University, where she met Jeremy. Her career as a Social Worker included work in various branches of that field, including domestic abuse, young mothers, homeless families, child protective services, children with special medical needs, and nursing home residents. She later honed her organizational skills as an event planner and designer of paper goods, running her own store in Tennessee, where the two lived and worked for thirteen years.

Tori serves as office manager, bookkeeper, and legal assistant for clients whose claims have already been approved, and are now in ongoing payment status. Many of these claims are subjected to annual medical reviews even after an appeal is approved, and Tori helps our clients and their doctors to respond appropriately to insurer questionnaires.

Stephanie Unverferth

As our primary legal assistant, Stephanie has principal responsibility for gathering medical evidence for our disability appeals, and is the main point of contact for our clients during that appeal process. Once an appeal is approved, clients are typically transferred to Tori for ongoing case management.

Stephanie was born and raised in Portland, with some time spent in northern and southern California. She studied business at California State University San Marcos and also represented the school on their golf team. Stephanie has a background in customer service and project management, mainly in the printing industry, and also has her real estate license. Stephanie built a connection with Jeremy and Tori when they relocated to Portland and is thrilled to be a part of the Evergreen Disability Law team. Stephanie’s husband, John, teaches fourth grade in a local school district, and they have a young son and daughter who keep them on their toes.
